Healing comes through compassion. Karuna Reiki® is compassionate healing. It is an energy healing modality. Like Usui Reiki, it also channelizes universal healing energies or life force energies.
Karuna Reiki attunement takes you to a higher level of vibrations. It activates the Crown Chakra to the maximum. It also balances your Chakras and opens them up, so you become a stronger channel of Prana ie life force energies, or Chi or Reiki. In a way, it is an upgraded version of Usui Reiki. Why am I saying so? As one can receive this attunement, only after receiving Usui Reiki attunements. It aims at bringing an end to your sufferings and sufferings of others. Significance of the name Karuna Reiki®
Karuna is a Sanskrit word that means compassion. Compassion or Karuna is a step above the feeling of love. Love can have feelings of negative emotions. But compassion cannot have negative feelings. More importantly, empathy carries a feeling of well being for all and forgiveness. After receiving Karuna Reiki attunement, working for the higher good of others and your own self will become a way of life.
Its Origin
Karuna Reiki healing was introduced to the world by William Lee Rand. He is the founder and president of The International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), The Center for Reiki Research, and The Reiki Membership Association. He developed this Reiki system along with his students in the year 1995. Sir Lee Rand tells how he found this healing system on his website. According to him, in early 1989, he was given non-Usui Reiki symbols and attunement techniques. Then he began experimenting with some of these symbols in 1993. With guidance from higher energies, he explored some of these symbols. He also involved some of his best students for the same.Sir William then eventually narrowed down to some very useful symbols and attunement process for these symbols. Hence, evolved a new system of Reiki, called Karuna Reiki.
Sir William says, “throughout the process, I prayed for help from the Higher Power and asked that I be connected to a healing energy that would be of greater benefit. I did not channel any of these symbols myself. They came from other Reiki masters. In 1995, I was guided to more clearly define the system and to name it Karuna Reiki which can be defined as the Reiki of Compassion. While some of the symbols in Karuna Reiki are the same as those used by other schools and systems, because the attunements are different and the intention is different, the energies that are connected to Karuna Reiki are unique to the system”.
